‘Tinavor Time’ is an opportunity for private study, gardening, going for walks and bicycle rides, drawing or just relaxing. It is up to you.

We make a weekly trip to the lively market town of Totnes with its interesting and unusual shops and cafes.

Evening trips to a Devon pub or a concert, film etc. can be arranged. We usually go to a restaurant during the last week of a course (optional). There is a weekly 'musicans night' in one of the village pubs.
Weekends are free-time, either to spend at Tinavor or travel further a field.

The South Hams, Devon and Cornwall are popular holiday areas with many places of interest including Exeter, Torquay, St Ives, The Eden Project and Lands End. Devon is well known as the home of Agatha Christie and the setting for her detective stories. Greenway House, Agatha Christie’s holiday home and garden on the River Dart, Coleton Fishacre and Overbecks’ sub-tropical garden are some of the beautiful National Trust Gardens in the area.

South Devon with its picturesque beaches and villages and Dartmoor are the film locations for many of the Rosamunde Pilcher novels. Ang Lee’s film adaptation of Jane Austen ‘Sense and Sensibility’ starring Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant was filmed locally in South Devon.
